The MaxVelocity MINI Intake was specifically engineered for the MINI Cooper S, to provide significant power gains through increased airflow with reduced heat transfer from the rest of the engine compartment. Unlike other heat shields made from sheet metal, the MaxVelocity heat shield is made from thermoformed plastic to reduce heat transfer to the air intake area.

The top of the heat shield is sloped, which allows it to conform to the underside of the MINI hood. In addition, the heat shield is equipped with a rubber liner on top and bottom, which further seals the intake area from the rest of the engine compartment. The MaxVelocity MINI Intake kit incorporates a K&N XStream series air filter, adding filter area and allowing better air flow and filtration. The black anodized, 6061 aluminum velocity stack, has been honed to allow for a smoother transition and better airflow to the compressor.
